James Robinson, Chair, Yarra Ranges Tourism

James is the Managing Director of SMS Marketing Solutions. He has strong marketing and sales experience across businesses of all sizes. James has held CEO roles for consumer products businesses in Australia, Europe and Asia, and was a member of the New Zealand Food and Grocery Council. On returning to Melbourne eight years ago he started his own marketing business in Melbourne focused on digital and mobile marketing.

Kristy Carstairs- Industry Relations Manager, Tourism Australia


Kristy started with Tourism Australia in 2017 as the Industry Relations Manager for Victoria, Tasmania and South & West Australia. In this role she is pivotal in connecting Australian Tourism suppliers with Tourism Australia and assisting them in understanding how best to work with Tourism Australia. Kristy has a strong background in resorts, hotels and the youth travel sector.

Mike Ruzzene - Director, Urban Enterprises


Mike has worked with Urban Enterprise since the year 2000. In that time, he has worked extensively throughout Australia for public and private sector clients in tourism, planning and urban economic projects. Mike has developed a strong reputation as an industry leader, particularly in the field of research and urban economics to inform strategic plans for industry, regions and urban centres.

Caroline Evans, CEO, Yarra Valley Wine Growers Association


Caroline is the newly appointed CEO of Wine Yarra Valley (Yarra valley Wine Growers Association). Previous to this Caroline spent seven years at the Yarra Valley Dairy having held the position of CEO. Caroline brings strong skills in marketing, tourism, operations and governance plus a strong financial management record.  Her career in marketing and tourism has spanned over 20 years in the Yarra Valley, she has a thorough understanding of the industry along with an in depth knowledge of grant applications and assessment.

Simon O’Callaghan, CEO, Yarra Ranges Tourism


Simon was appointed CEO in 2016, following three years as the Chief Operating Officer. He has held senior roles in the private and public sectors. He is an innovative marketer and business leader and has worked in various positions building economic outcomes with local communities.

Norman Gray, CEO Box Hill Institute


Norman has led the development of the organisations’ strategic plan 2015-2018 with a focus on serving communities through education. Previous roles include COO and Executive Director of Network Operations at Public Transport Victoria and CEO of Thales Australia. Norman had a long and distinguished career in the Department of Defence and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1993.
